Abstract / Achievements

The Womanity Foundation funded Community-Based Education (CBE) project in Bagrami District has significantly contributed to sustaining and improving learning outcomes for marginalized children, with a strong focus on girls’ participation (69%). Throughout the reporting period, all 230 students and teachers received comprehensive learning kits, and mid-term examinations were successfully administered. Teacher capacity was notably enhanced through a 12-day professional training, with performance scores improving from 44.2% to 87.7%. Student outcomes showed consistent progress, rising from 80% to 84% in assessment averages. Despite challenges such as fluctuating attendance, teacher punctuality, and severe winter conditions, the project successfully addressed these through proactive coordination with local education authorities, parental engagement, and the provision of firewood to ensure safe learning spaces. The initiative demonstrates resilience, adaptability, and community-centered education as vital pillars for sustaining learning in fragile contexts.
