This project addressed critical WASH and emergency food needs in two vulnerable Afghan provinces. In Badakhshan, 2,350 students, teachers, and community members received personal hygiene kits, while 300 participants attended specialized two-day hygiene training sessions. In Baghlan, 50 families severely impacted by floods were supported with comprehensive food packages, mitigating immediate hunger risks. The project successfully navigated government coordination challenges, fully utilized its $50,000 grant, and achieved 100% of its distribution targets. Beyond material assistance, it established mechanisms such as Grievance Redress Committees and PSEA training, ensuring transparency, accountability, and safeguarding. The initiative significantly improved hygiene practices, enhanced resilience against disease, and reinforced SSEOA’s emergency response capacity at the community level.
