Shining Star Educational Organization of Afghanistan (SSEOA) is a non-profit, non-governmental and non-political organization registered with Ministry of Economy with registration 4388. SSEOA works in the field of education and livelihood in the remote region of Afghanistan. SSEOA envisions to create educational opportunities for girls and women to grow, thrive, and prosper. SSEOA works to empower communities of Afghanistan through literacy and education, especially for girls, promotes peace through education, and conveys the importance of these activities all around the country. SSEOA believes that without educating the girls peace and prosperity is not possible that’s why our mission is to create educational opportunities and livelihood skills that enable Afghans specially girls and women in the remote region of Afghanistan.

'The Book in Her Hands, the Future in Her Heart.'

Maryam a young and determined 12 year old girl, a student of the 2nd grade from Koro Naw village in Asmar district, a remote and mountainous area where schools were completely out of reach. Before the CBE program began, children in her community grew up without even the basic opportunity to read or write. “I used to watch other children in nearby towns carrying books, and I wished I could be like them,” Maryam remembers. 'A Light from a Remote Village'

Sema is a 12-year-old girl and a 5th grade student from Nangalam Tange, a remote village in Dara-e-Pech district of Kunar Province. She lives with her parents and three younger siblings, who are between the ages of 7 and 9. Her father works as a small vendor in the village, while her mother is a housewife.
The family faced a major tragedy when her elder brother—who had been both the breadwinner and Sema’s primary source of learning—passed away. Since then, the family has struggled both financially and emotionally. Read More...

'From unmet Hope to strengths'

Naima Torakai is 24 years old. She was born and raised in Nangalam Tange village, located in Dara-e-Pech district of Kunar Province. Against many odds, Naima completed grade 12 in a rural, underserved community, where educational opportunities were scarce and challenges were plenty. Growing up in this environment, Naima developed a deep passion for education that refused to be dimmed. Driven by this passion, she began her teaching journey at a local Islamic religious school, where she taught for two years. Despite her enthusiasm and dedication, the poor condition of the school facilities and a lack of proper resources made it difficult for her to thrive as an educator. Read More...

Halima Safi’s Story

'From Lost Hope to New Beginnings'

Halima Safi was born and raised in a rural vil lage in Dara-e-Pech district of Kunar province. She lives with her parents, three sisters, and two younger brothers. Her elderly father can no longer work and is unable to support the family financially. As an unmarried young woman, Halima has taken on the role of the sole breadwinner through her job as a CBE teacher. Halima’s Father– Mohammad Agha states, “I may be old and weak, but when I see my daughter going to school with books in hand, I feel strength in my heart.
